- BDR Plumbing & Bathrooms
A local plumbing website redesigned to support growth
About The Project
Plumbing & Bathroom Business Website
Project Vision
BDR Plumbing & Bathrooms already had a strong local reputation. The aim was to build a website that properly reflected that. The business offers more than plumbing repairs, so the site needed space for bathroom installations, local service coverage, and the everyday work homeowners seek.
Design & Experience
Most homeowners don’t spend time studying trade websites. They want answers quickly. We focused on making services easier to understand, reducing unnecessary clutter, and helping visitors move from browsing to enquiry without feeling overwhelmed.
Purpose & Impact
The website needed to support two sides of the business at the same time. Plumbing repairs remained important, but bathroom installations deserved equal attention. The finished website gives both services room to stand on their own.
The Client
A Local Business With Broader Potential
Overview
BDR Plumbing & Bathrooms works with homeowners across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, carrying out everything from emergency plumbing repairs to complete bathroom renovations. Like many local trades businesses, most enquiries came through reputation and recommendations. The website existed, but it wasn't helping the business grow into new areas.
Goals
One of the biggest priorities was improving how services were presented. The old website naturally leaned towards plumbing repairs because that's what many visitors expected to see. The problem was that bathroom installations had become a significant part of the business, yet they weren't getting the same visibility. There was also a clear opportunity to strengthen local search coverage.
Challenges
The challenge wasn't a lack of services. It was a lack of structure. Different services were grouped together, local areas weren't being targeted effectively, and visitors had very little information to help them understand why they should choose BDR over another plumber down the road. Trust signals existed too, but they weren't working hard enough.
Our Approach
Building Something More Useful For Homeowners
Service Clarity
Each core service was given its own space, making it easier for visitors to understand exactly what was available.
Local Focus
New location content helped connect the business with the towns and communities it actively serves.
Bathroom Visibility
Bathroom services were moved from the background into a much more prominent position throughout the website.
Trust Signals
Qualifications, insurance, and professional memberships were placed where people naturally look when deciding who to contact.
Simpler Navigation
Visitors can now move between services, locations, and contact points without unnecessary clicks or confusion.
Better Enquiry Paths
Clear calls to action were introduced throughout the website so visitors always know what to do next.
Our Strategy
Strengthening Visibility Across Multiple Areas
01
Service-Led Pages
Instead of relying on a small number of generic pages, the website now gives each service the attention it deserves.
02
Local Search Coverage
Dedicated location pages were created to improve visibility in key service areas across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
03
Bathroom Fitter Positioning
Bathroom fitting services were woven throughout the website to better reflect the work already being carried out for customers.
04
Credibility Building
Professional qualifications and insurance cover became a more visible part of the customer journey.
05
Balanced Messaging
The website no longer feels like a plumbing repair website that happens to install bathrooms. Both services now have equal weight.
06
Enquiry Opportunities
Contact points appear naturally throughout the website, making it easier for visitors to get in touch when they’re ready.
